God willing, we’re holding a baptism service on September 24.
A few years ago, I put together a short document that explains what baptism means and who should be baptized. You can download it below.
Here’s a summary:
- Baptism follows the example of Jesus and the command of Jesus.
- It symbolizes our death, burial, and resurrection with Jesus, and that our sins are washed away by Christ.
- Normally, baptism took place by being immersed underwater.
- Baptism is meant for believers (not babies). It’s one of the first steps that you should take as a believer.
There’s a lot more we could say, but that’s a good start.
If you are a follower of Jesus, and you haven’t yet been baptized since becoming a believer, you should get baptized! We would love to talk to you about this. If you’re interested, simply reply to this email or talk to me on Sunday, and we can take the next step.
This Sunday, we’re looking at Ezekiel 11:17-20. It’s a story that takes place at one of the lowest points in the story of the Old Testament, and yet it’s filled with hope. I can’t wait to unpack it on Sunday.
P.S. We have a newcomer’s dinner scheduled on September 10 after the evening service. If you’re new to Liberty Grace, you’re invited. Just hit “reply” and let me know you can come.
Thanks,
Darryl
